Are you planning any more expansions or add-ons for AO anytime soon? We know players are always itching for new content. We are currently working on the Lost Eden expansion that will bring the PvP in the game to new heights. We will introduce new vehicle system allowing players to use large “Mechs” to stride across the battlefield raining destruction on anything getting in their way.I don’t want to bring any details on any expansion after that at this point, as it’s a little too early to discuss any specifics about those. Overall, what is the biggest problem you face in terms of keeping the players interested in the game? This is a split problem between acquiring new players and maintaining the old players. While AO has a large amount of features and possibilities to customize your character this has resulted in a rather steep learning curve for new players. We regularly do updates to the game to enhance the experience for new players and help them get over this initial learning phase so they can delve into the game and enjoy it as so many people have done before. On the other end it is a race to produce new content for existing players to keep them filled with things to do. Now we are currently populating existing high-level areas with hundreds of new quests, patching in completely new areas and developing a new expansion. Do you have a big issue with botters and exploiters? There seems to be a growing sector which actually base businesses off the sale of virtual items. We haven’t had any big problems with either botters or exploiters so far in Anarchy Online. We have a dedicated and very experienced exploit team that is continuously tracking down any problems in the game and make sure it gets sorted. As with all MMO games we have players sell items and cash between themselves outside the limits of the game. We are cracking down on this wherever we find it and occasionally make modifications to the game to discourage such activities. If you could choose one thing to say to the players who have been with AO over the years, what would it be?Thank you for being such a wonderful community. They really are the lifeblood of the game and we are extremely proud of the community that has grown up on Rubi-Ka! |
