Net Devil spoke with GamesIndustry to make sure that fans know the closure of AUto Assault will not affect the planned LEGO MMO at all. In fact, the AA team members are not being laid off, just moved to other project teams. Great news!

NCSoft has posted some sad news. Auto Assault, the vehicular combat MMO that just never quite made it mainstream, is shutting down come August 31, 2007. We are sad to see it go , but we believe it is only the first casualty in the MMO war.

From NCSoft:We have some very cool things coming in the next patch, which is getting very close to showing up on the test server. You can read Producer Andrew "Zzyn" Wagner's latest post here, as well as a list of things that we are testing right now (here's the top of the forum thread). You'll be seeing more specific info on some of the big changes in the coming days.

From NCSoft:To celebrate the release of Update 4 we're inviting everyone—and we do mean everyone—to try out Auto Assault for a second time to check out all the new features. From March 16 to March 26, all previously inactive accounts will be reactivated. All you have to do is download the latest version of the client, log in, and play. It's so simple a Pike could do it.
