NCSoft At The Cult Memorabilia Show, Official Info >

PRESS RELEASE

Friday 16th November/... NCsoft® Europe, the leading publisher and developer of massively multiplayer online games, is set to turn gamers into charity heroes at this year’s cult Memorabilia show, as fans become part of their favourite games ‘for real’ – all for a good cause.

The two day event, which takes place at the Birmingham NEC on November 24th and 25th, is the longest running cult movie, TV, comic, video game, music and sport convention in the UK and NCsoft will be there in force with its biggest UK public exhibition ever.

Continuing its long running relationship with charity project Draw the World Together, NCsoft is literally raising its game in an attempt to break last year’s total of over £1,500 raised at Memorabilia. Every single penny donated will go straight to EveryChild, a UK charitable organisation that works to provide children in developing countries with healthcare, education and family support through sponsorship programmes.

Dominating the heart of the NCsoft stand will be two giant backdrops featuring scenes from City of Heroes® / City of Villains™ and Guild Wars, against which members of the public can pose for photos with real-life game characters, including Ghost Widow™ and Ms. Liberty™ from City of Heroes, and Gwen, heroine of Guild Wars: Eye of the North™. Together with the costumes and props provided, visitors will be encouraged to heroically pose for the camera, giving them the chance to literally ‘put themselves’ into their favourite NCsoft games.

In exchange for a £10 donation per person in each photo, visitors will receive an A4 glossy photo of their ‘in-game persona’, presented in a special commemorative folder. Each photo will be personalised and will be post-processed to add game-style special effects, making for a truly one-of-a-kind image.

The professional comic artists of Draw the World Together, including Andrew Wildman and Mike Collins among others, will also be on the NCsoft stand both days. The artists will be sketching drawings of anything visitors want in return for donations to charity. Plus, in a new event this year, ‘Draw the World Together Live’ will feature Draw the World Together artists sketching the NCsoft models live on stage, on the big-screen, so fans can follow every pen stroke for themselves.

Also taking place on the massive NCsoft stand are live demonstrations of Richard Garriott’s Tabula Rasa™ and the latest chapters in the hugely popular Guild Wars® and City of Heroes’ sagas, ensuring everybody can keep up to date with NCsoft’s latest releases. Alternatively, attendees can pick themselves up a bargain at the NCsoft shop, with half price deals on cracking titles such as Guild Wars Nightfall™: Collector’s Edition and fantastic savings on exclusive NCsoft merchandise.

“The Memorabilia show is the UK’s biggest and best event for fans of cult entertainment and we’re delighted to be such a major part of it this year,” said Stephen Reid, Creative Concepts Manager of NCsoft Europe. “This is the perfect chance for gamers to see all our latest titles while picking up a bargain or two. More than that, it’s a fantastic opportunity for players to meet their heroes and literally ‘put themselves’ into game, all while helping to raise stacks of cash for EveryChild. It’s going to be a fantastic weekend and we can’t wait to see you there!”
