Apparently, Bioware is planning a new online MMO game, and they will be using Perpetual Entertainment's MMO backbone to develop the title. No word yet on what the game is or what platform it will be on, but we cannot wait to hear more about it. Click read more for the full info.

SAN FRANCISCO, CA - July 19, 2007 - Perpetual Entertainment announced today that BioWare's Austin studio has licensed Perpetual's online technology platform for an upcoming Massively Multiplayer Online (MMO) title. The agreement gives BioWare the platform to deploy and support its online titles utilizing Perpetual's industry-leading technology for online game operations, deployment, infrastructure development and community support.

According to CVG, the rumor is Bioware has formed a new online team to create a Star Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic MMORPG. The report is out of the EGM rumors section, and the EGM rumors are some of the most reliable out there. The original KOTOR was a fantastic game, the second KOTOR was good but it suffered from some pacing problems and story element gaps. A KOTOR MMORPG might be great, but then again, it might step on Star Wars Galaxies' toes, which is why Lucasarts may put the kaibosh on this project asap. Rumor mill for now.

FiringSquad has posted a Q&A with BioWare join CEOs Ray Muzyka and Greg Zeschuk. The two are asked about everythign BioWare is working on, but the part we are interested in is the MMORPG information. We posted the supposed screenshot from the upcoming BioWare MMO earlier, and now we post some actual info on it for you (though it isn't much).

Back in March, BioWare announced that they had opened a studio in Austin Texas to begin work on an MMO game. Well, a screenshot has surfaced on the web that is purportedly from this MMO game. This one is rumor mill for now folks, and if anyoen can identify this screen as other than a BioWare screen please comment. Click on the news title to see the screen.

Devevloper Bioware has opened a new development studio in Austin, Texas and is recruiting for a new MMO project. As you know Bioware is the studio behind such games as KOTOR and Jade Empire. Work on the new MMORPG game which will mark Bioware's entrance into the MMO genre has already begun, but no details were given on the game, of course. Why everyone and their brother feels the need to develop MMO games we aren't sure.
