Codemasters seems to be doing well in their MMO endeavors, and Archlord is the latest game to show it. Codemasters is now making plans to bring development of their MMO games in house. Codemasters currently runs four MMO games with another due later this year. Codemasters now plans to bring development of these games in house in order to help with production and costs.

Why the developers and publishers continue to put money into MMO game these days, we are just not sure. We keep telling people that the breaking point has been reached for this generation, and that there is just not enough MMO players to fill all the MMO games planned, but of course, no one is listening to us. Why do you think so many MMO games fail? Despite this, Codemasters, one of our favorite dev/pubs, has announced that they will be working on 2 new console MMO games. Maybe the console platform will bring them success.

It is getting hard for the folks over at RF Online and Codemasters to keep up with demand. To this end, they have just opened a second brand new world (server) for players to join. Since the switch to free-play, RF Online membership has skyrocketed. From Codemasters:Ben X, produced by Belgian studio MMG, has taken three top prizes at the Montreal International Film festival. This Dutch language film managed to secure nominations in seven categories including Best Film of Show category.
