Apparently there has been a security breach of the Second Life player database in the past few days. Linden has reset all player passwords, and gamers are urged to change their password as soon as possible. The security bulliten has all the necesary details, this is a must-read for any and all players of Second Life. This is also a real eye-opener to just how mainstream MMO games have become. When people are willing to break into the database of an MMO game to potentially profit from it, you know MMO games are here to stay.

In what is definitely the first of its kind lawsuit, a Pennsylvania lawyer is suing the makers of the Second Life MMO for unfairly confiscating over $8000 dollard worth of virtual items. Marc Bragg of West Chester, Pennsylvania, says game developer Linden Lab unilaterally shut down his Second Life account, cutting off his access to a substantial portfolio of real estate and currency in the virtual world. He's demanding $8,000 in restitution. Keep an eye on this one, folks. (Thanks, Hsp)
