On Thursday, August 23rd at 4:00 AM PDT all U.S. and European galaxies will be taken down for server maintenance and a live update. When the update is complete, all galaxies will be live but unavailable while we complete final testing. All galaxies will be made available after that time.

Some folks in EQII have the knack to add life to a room, through simple placement of items and furniture. Mmorpg.com spotlighted a contest held last spring, a contest that rewarded those with that knack with a little additional help from EQII's own development staff. Team MxO continues to press on and we should have a brand spankin’ new update sometime next week barring any unforeseen problems. This update will feature bug fixes as usual and the further progression of the storyline with Chapter 8.2 set to hit the servers. I would give specifics to these fixes however they aren’t all locked in quite yet, we’ll have a full list sometime next week and we’ll try to get that posted before the update hits the servers so everyone can get a good look at em’.

It looks like Lucasarts and SOE are hurting a bit in the Star Wars Galaxies membership department. They are now running a player-come-back style event, like so many other MMOs.
