Why the developers and publishers continue to put money into MMO game these days, we are just not sure. We keep telling people that the breaking point has been reached for this generation, and that there is just not enough MMO players to fill all the MMO games planned, but of course, no one is listening to us. Why do you think so many MMO games fail? Despite this, Codemasters, one of our favorite dev/pubs, has announced that they will be working on 2 new console MMO games. Maybe the console platform will bring them success.

Vogster, who previously signed a licensing agreement with Epic for the UE3.0 engine, has officially announced the CrimeCraft MMO for next-gen consoles and PC. The game is set in a modern world where players take part in the economic life of a big city. Players will run businesses, take part in commerce, run criminal enterprises, pretty much anything they want to do relating to business, they can. Could this be the next real world money trading MMO? Time will tell.

It seems that Vivendi has confirmed that there is a BSG MMO on the way to Xbox360 consoles. The announcement comes hot on the heels of the Firefly MMO (created by Multiverse), and should hit console in 2008. Just how many MMO games can the gaming public take?

Square has posted word that the XBox360 version of their five year old MMORPG, Final Fantasy XI, will only cost $29.99 from here on out. There was no reason cited for the price reduction, but we can guess that with the Holiday Season drawing closer, Square wants to focus on other next-gen titles.
